This will be implemented from <strong>1st July 2025<\/strong>.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe information on ACW (Welsh data) is being collected to support the <strong>Welsh Government\u2019s More than just Words strategic framework and Action Plan<\/strong>. It will give evidence of the use of Welsh by learners who are completing social care and childcare apprenticeships in Wales.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe Welsh language belongs to us all. The <strong>Welsh Language Act (1993)<\/strong> was an act that officially put the Welsh language on an equal footing with the English language within Wales.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nPlease forward this information on to colleagues in your team who certify apprenticeships.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>FAQ\u2019s<\/strong><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>What\u2019s changing?<\/strong><br \/>\nWe are adding a Welsh language delivery question on ACW. This will sit under the Framework tab. There\u2019s a screenshot below of how it will look. You will be able to choose one code from the list. This information we will capture via ACW will be current whereas the Lifelong Learning Wales Record (LLWR) data has a time lag of up to 9 months.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011<\/strong> is a significant piece of legislation that establishes Welsh as an official language in Wales, ensuring it is treated no less favourably than English. The Measure modernises the legal framework for the use of the Welsh language in public services, including the establishment of the Welsh Language Commissioner to oversee its implementation. It also includes provisions for a Welsh Language Partnership Council and aims to improve the delivery of public services in Welsh.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Welsh language standards<\/strong> are legislative and promote and facilitate the Welsh language, and ensure that the Welsh language is not treated less favourably than the English language in Wales.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>What do I need to do whilst certifying?<\/strong><br \/>\nv<\/p>\n<p>Whilst uploading a new apprentice, you will need to add the learner\u2019s Welsh language learning and assessment code which will sit under the Framework tab.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is this mandatory?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, this is a mandatory field.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>When is this being implemented?<\/strong><br \/>\nFrom 1 July 2025<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Where do I find information on the learner\u2019s Welsh language learning and assessment preference including which codes to use?<\/strong><br \/>\nYou can find more information on this in the Apprenticeship Specification Guidance. Section I14 \u2018Welsh Language Requirements\u2019 provides a link to the recording of accurate data which has further guidance on which code to use.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>If I\u2019ve entered a learner onto ACW before the Welsh language learning assessment code was implemented on 1 July 2025; will I need to re-enter the candidate\u2019s information?<\/strong><br \/>\nNo, you wont need to re-enter the information.
