The Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media (Level 3 and 4) is aimed at learners who are interested in developing the skills needed by Creative Industries employers: a fusion of creativity, technology and business. In Wales, industry requested an update to the existing Level 3 framework, to reflect changes in roles with production and to widen the options for craft and technical learning.
The Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media (Level 3) combines workplace skills with
a range of units for Broadcast, Film, Games Development, Interactive and Web Media roles. Creative Skillset have updated this to include additional optional units in Set Crafts, Props development, Costume, Hair and Make-up and Prosthetics in line with employer demand, linked primarily, to the growth of drama and film production in Cardiff. The progression route developed for interactive roles from the Level 3 offer still applies.
The Higher Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media (Level 4 Interactive Media pathway) provides a specialised route for those involved with the design and development of interactive media products, including creative industry business techniques.
